Pico De Loro

Mt. Palay Palay

Pico De Loro, sounds like a bird but not an animal, it's a mountain peak.
It's one of the known hiking place for beginners who wants to feel the fun of hiking.
A good starting point that will give you body pain and will probably leave you as an achiever.

Here's a simple guide for you to follow on going Pico De Loro - Cavite to Batangas (Mt. Palay - Palay):

1. Go to the Bus terminal in Coastal Mall. (There are other terminal that is available but I haven't tried it so I won't recommend.)
     a. If you are from Laguna, you can ride a jeep to Alabang go to south station, then ride a jeep to Baclaran be sure to ask the driver if it will travel to Coastal Mall.
     b. If you are from North Edsa or around North you can ride a bus going to Coastal Mall.
2. Ride a Bus going to Ternate terminal (Be sure to ride the bus indicating it will go travel in Cavitex for shorter travel time)
3. Ride a Tricycle from Ternate Terminal to Pico De Loro DENR

Upon arrival, go to the nearest store in the place and ask for registration and pay the fee.

How to go back:
1. Find the Bus Terminal to Coastal Mall/Edsa.
    a. If you go down in Cavite Trail, you can just ride a tricycle to Ternate Bus Station and Ride a Bus either going to Coastal Mall/Edsa.
    b. If you tried Traverse and followed Batangas Trail you have option to ride a tricycle that will travel from Batangas to Cavite and will be travelling Kabyang Tunnel. On the other hand, you may choose to go to Nasugbu Town Proper to Bus/Van Terminal Going to Edsa or Coastal Mall.

Note: If you will travel from Coastal Mall and will go back to Laguna, you can ride a bus going to Edsa or wait for a jeep going to Alabang. If you want to take shower after the hike, there are Comfort rooms in the BUS terminal. You may take your shower by paying 20 pesos. :)

**Follow the same route you traveled before going to Coastal Mall.

Since I did this kind of blog after having a long time of traveling I don't have itinerary but to have a brief summary of time with an allowance for possible traffic estimate, this might help:

30 mins to Alabang
1-1.5 hours Alabang to Coastal Mall
1-1.5 hours  North Edsa to Coastal Mall
1.5-2 hours Coastal Mall to Ternate at
15-30 minutes Ternate to Pico de Loro DENR
30 minutes warm up.
3-4 hours going to the peak.
2-4 hours going down.
1-3 hours to Coastal Mall.

Have atleast 14 - 18 or more of your time, based on experience we meet-up at 5am - 6am and be home at 10-11pm, it's usually traffic going home, you can sleep on the bus -_____-
